Library Visit

Our annual trip to Ballybane Library took place on Wednesday the 25^th of October. 5^th and 6^th class visited the library and met with local cartoonist Aidan Courtney. We all thoroughly enjoyed the trip and everyone improved their artistic skills by drawing different characters and animals.

Book Fair 2017

Our Annual Book Fair, in association with Scholastic, takes place in our school hall on Wednesday the 25^th of October 2017 from 6.30 -7.30 pm. All are welcome to attend. We have a wide variety of books & stationary available for purchase at this fixture. We hope you enjoy!

Well done to all the Fifth and sixth class boys and girls participating in The Table Tennis Tournament.  Great skills have been displayed. Looking forward to the final on Monday 6th November. Good luck.....

Sixth class made science come alive with many science experiments recently. They investigated the difference between a solid, liquid and a gas using balloons and water. They also investigated how the water cycle works and the effects of heat on various materials. The lessons instilled a sense of curiosity and wonder with sixth class. Please see images below.

As part of Maths Week 2017, 6th class helped to facilitate a Maths for Fun programme. This involved setting up Mathematical stations and teaching/demonstrating mathematical concepts to the younger pupils of the school. This involved the use of games, concrete materials, investigations, use of calculators, our Surface RTs to play interactive maths games online, an oral approach to mental maths, modelling of skills, strategies and mathematical language, real-life maths and even some outdoor mathematical trails.
