Flower Power!!

Please take a moment to admire & appreciate our wonderful array of petunia and pansies which were carefully planted on our Spring Clean Day of Action. Recent weeks have seen them thrive throughout the summer sunshine and showers. They certainly help to enhance our school environment. We are very proud of such progress!!

“Flowers always make people better, happier and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine to the soul”.

Checking out Kingstown

Pupils from 6th class recently travelled to Kinsgtown N.S in Clifden. This presented us with an opportunity to reflect upon and compare the way of life in a West Connemara school to that of our school which is situated eight miles east of Galway, in the parish of Lackagh. Both schools are renowned for their rich traditions in farming, sport, music, neighbourly co-operation and support. Our visit involved a music session and sing song, a questions and answers session, an opportunity to participate in playground games and a wonderful opportunity to investigate the incredible flora and fauna of west Connemara. All pupils were given a wonderful opportunity to mix and get to know one another. Wonderful fun was had by all. It was a very memorable occasion. Thanks to Mr. Kennelly and the staff of Kingstown N.S for organising and facilitating this unforgettable visit and for their wonderful hospitality. Sincere thanks also to Alfie our marvellous bus driver for being so kind to one and all and for participating in this event.
