Amazing Authors!
Write a Book 2017
First Class enjoyed writing their own books and reading the work
of the Children in First class from Carrabane National School.
Reading Buddies
In our reading pairs, we read our weekly reader
aloud to our partners. We then asked our partner some questions, based on the
story. We also brought our favourite books to explain to our friends what makes
our favourite books so great. Many thanks to all the wonderful, confident readers and expert listeners who took part!
Gong Hey Fat Choy!
We recently celebrated Chinese New
Year. We took part in many activities, in order to celebrate 2017, the year of
the rooster.
We each found out a fact about China. Did you know.......
· -Beijing is the capital of China.
· -Sticky rice was used as the mortar for building the Great Wall of China.
-Approximately 38 babies are born in China each minute of the day.
· -Half of all pigs on earth live in China.
As you can see from the photos, we also had lots of fun taking part in a ‘chopstick challenge’!
