Science Week 2016
took place from November 13th – 20th. We were very lucky
to have a special guest come to visit us here at Cregmore N.S. Jane the
Scientist came to the school on Monday the 14th and conducted a
variety of different experiments with each class group, from Junior Infants
right up to 6th class. This provided both the children and teachers
with the opportunity to learn about and participate in experiments based on
sound, light, energy and forces and much more. It was a thoroughly enjoyable
day!

Super Moon!
A rare "Super Moon"
made the full lunar disc appear 14 per cent larger and up to 30 per cent
brighter than usual as it rose above the rooftops on Monday 14th November
2016, in an event described by Nasa as "undeniably beautiful". Pupils
in our school thoroughly enjoyed researching and studying this incredible
science.
Shoebox Success!
Over 140 shoe boxes were recently
collected from our school as part of the Team Hope Annual Christmas Appeal.
Many thanks to all who supported this very worthwhile cause. No doubt these
shoeboxes will bring a smile to a Child’s face this Christmas season.
Incredible Infants!
Below are a selection
of images of our incredible infants participating in playtime activities. These activities allow the Children to learn about themselves and the
world around them. In particular playtime allows the pupils to:
·
Learn to get along with others
·
Sort conflict/resolve issues
·
Practice language skills
·
Develop small (fine) and large
(gross) motor skills
In addition, play encourages independence, self-esteem & creativity.
