Shoebox Success!

Over 140 shoe boxes were recently collected from our school as part of the Team Hope Annual Christmas Appeal. Many thanks to all who supported this very worthwhile cause. No doubt these shoeboxes will bring a smile to a Child’s face this Christmas season.

Incredible Infants!

Below are a selection of images of our incredible infants participating in playtime activities. These activities allow the Children to learn about themselves and the world around them. In particular playtime allows the pupils to:

·         Learn to get along with others

·         Sort conflict/resolve issues

·         Practice language skills

·         Develop small (fine) and large (gross) motor skills

In addition, play encourages independence, self-esteem & creativity.

Colourful Crests - A chance to reflect

We thoroughly enjoyed investigating and delving into our family crests. While doing so, we also explored and examined the significance of our school crest. Our school crest comprises of 3 significant images. The first is that of a book. The book represents our commitment to promoting and enhancing pupil’s academic achievement. The second symbol is of two hurls. This reflects the strong tradition of hurling in the Cregmore community. In our school we continue to promote and create a love around hurling and camogie. The third and final image in our school crest is that of a bridge. This represents the bridge in our community. It is known locally as Cregmore Bridge. We also recalled with love and affection those that built the bridge, hurled for our community and taught in our schools. They were very inspirational people. This was a very rewarding and worthwhile lesson.

'The times, they are a changing!' - Beautiful Sunrise

To reflect the change in time, we explored the morning sunrise.

 Remember: ‘spring forward, fall back’.

This means that during springtime, the clocks go forward. During the ‘fall’, also known as autumn, the clocks go back.

If you see the sun rising in the morning, take a minute and investigate its beauty. Lots of different colours can be seen while the sun is rising.
