A visit from Michael Hannon and School Bake Sale in aid of Climb 4 Cancer

A visit from Michael Hannon & Climb 4 Cancer.

On May 26th, Mr. Michael Hannon visited to our school. He told us all about his company “Planet 21”. His story was amazing. It is a fantastic company that has grown steadily over the past decade and Michael said that its strength is that they have such a loyal and dedicated staff. He also told us about a fundraiser event that he had recently taken part in. Michael, along with 30 other volunteers  had climbed the highest mountain in each Province in 3 days. They raised thousands of euro which they presented to a fund which caters for Cancer sufferers. It provides respite for their families. Mr Kennelly presented a cheque of €250 to Michael. He was very pleased and thanked all the pupils who had participated in a “No Uniform Day”.  

Also, 6^th Class are holding a ‘Bake Sale’ just for the students on Friday, June 12th. They are giving the proceeds to Cancer Care West who are hoping to raise in excess of €100,000 this Summer to support their project based in Newcastle.

Galway County Athletics Competition in Dangan

Well done to all our athletes who took part in the Galway County Sports Athletics competition today in Dangan. They all were fantastic in their sprints, long distance runs and relays and we are very proud of them indeed! Here is a picture of most of our team enjoying our day at the running track.

We were delighted to submit our log of evidence for this prestigious award. It documents a selection of all the fantastic work the children in the school have done in this regard and we can't wait to hear back from the committee to see how we have done. 

Thank you most sincerely for very generously responding to our clothing collection in aid of Cancer Care West. We are most appreciative. This very much reflects the recycling ethos that permeates throughout the school.

 

We are the Champions!!

Well done to the unbeaten Cregmore U13, division 2, soccer champions. The boys along with their teammates were presented with gold medals and a beautiful piece of silverware.
