STEM Excellence Award Portfolio Submitted!
We were delighted to submit our log of evidence for this prestigious award. It documents a selection of all the fantastic work the children in the school have done in this regard and we can't wait to hear back from the committee to see how we have done.
We are the Champions!!
Well done to the unbeaten Cregmore U13, division 2, soccer champions.
The boys along with their teammates were presented with gold medals and a
beautiful piece of silverware.
Soup Science!!
Mr McNamara completed a science experiment in the outdoors with
the Junior &Senior Infants. We made ‘Soil Soup’! We investigated the 4
layers in the soil samples – sand, silt, clay & humus. It was amazing
watching the layers change colour in these samples. We have placed the bowls of
soup to rest for a few days. We will report back the results & our recordings!!

Clothes Collection
Our Clothes Collection in aid of Cancer Care West, takes place on Tuesday next 12th May. All used/unwanted clothes would be very greatly appreciated. These items can be placed into a black sack and may be dropped off at the school. Many thanks.
The Bird That Laid The Blue Egg!!
Paul brought a
bird’s eggshell into school for us to investigate. We really enjoyed looking at
the eggshell. It was very tiny & fragile and a baby blue colour. Can you
guess the bird that laid blue egg……? It could be a house finch, a starling, a
bluebird or even a robin.
Write-A-Book Success!!
Well done to Sarah Conway!! Sarah is the overall winner of the
write-a-book competition from 1st class. Sarah was presented with
her award and medal at a special ceremony in the Radisson Blu Hotel. Well done
to all the boys and girls who wrote and illustrated their very own stories.
Everybody worked very hard throughout this process and we enjoyed reading the
exciting stories from our own class and from the schools we exchanged our books
with.
Well done also to Laura McGrath, Grace Cullinane and Jamie
Gibney. Each were highly commended on their publications. We are very proud.
