6th Class 'Design & Make' Projects

We made models of local buildings-of-interest in our area. Here are some of the finished products. Can you guess what they are?

P.J. made this brilliant model of Lackagh Museum. His clever use of an easter egg basket really resembles the thatch roof and also highlights the importance of creative recycling!

Chloe Mc, Elena and Olivia made this model of a local, well-known eating establishment. They included lots of important details made from clay such as tables and chairs, an outdoor seating area and several cups, plates and crockery!

Ian, Damien and Enda worked very hard on this model of Turloughmór Centre and pitch. Their goals were designed with creativity and imagination. The pitch is also expertly lined by the boys who know this local attraction only too well!

Adam and Ryan made this excellent reconstruction of Claregalway Castle. The inclusion of the trees and green areas make the model like an exact replica of the grounds of the castle

Chloe Molloy made this fantastic model of a the 'arches' bridge in Claregalway and included beautiful brick work pattern on the face of the bridge making it resemble the real thing!

Amy and Jade worked together to make this well-known pitch and clubhouse-take a look at the well-designed dug-outs!

Ethan and Neil worked really well together and cleverly designed a well-known local establishment, including lots of detail such as the colourful bunting out the front and clay models of the petrol pumps. They also have included relevant details inside the bar such as dart board and television.

Nathan, Eanna and Loman combined talents to re-create the airport in Carnmore. Their inclusion of the look-out tower in top right-hand side of the photograph was an inspired and clever idea. Adding in the fuel truck, an array of planes, delivery men and signs bring this model to life

Warren worked on his carpentry skills and recycled left-over flooring to make a model of Corrandulla nursing home. The finished product was well put together

Sarah, Vicka, Nicola and Niamh really put their heads together to come up with this fantastic arena, paddock and stables culminating in this life-like riding centre. They 'borrowed' pebbles from gardens to represent the stone walls, sawdust was commandeered for inside the stables and siblings' collections of horses and ponies were depleted in order to achieve the desired look!

Winners will be announced via the BlogSpot so watch this space!!!

Dear Teachers, Parents and Pupils Thank you for filling up your blue battery boxes with loads of batteries. Thanks to this effort, over 25 million portable waste batteries were collected in 2013 and we were able to donate €90k as a result of the 2012 and 2013 campaign to LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice Charity. Please help us to continue the good work in 2014.

Grandparents' Day in Cregmore NS

We had a lovely day in the school on April 10th when our grandparents came to visit. We put on a concert in our school hall and we baked lots of treats for them to have with their tea and coffee. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and this day has become a highlight for us every year in the school. Below are some pictures of this event.
