The Galway Mummers

The Galway Mummers juvenile group entered in a competiton and after all of their practice they came out with a first place win.In that Juvenile group their were six of our students; Emma, Michelle, Róisin, Saoirse, Ellen and Leanne. The competiton that they entered involved Singing, Music, Dancing and Story Telling.
Well done to all involed!

U12 girls win Connacht Shield

The U12 girls from Cregmore soccer club, won the Connacht Shield in Carrick on Shannon against two teams in August. They later went on to the All Ireland final, a week after the semi-final, the first match they played, they won 2-1 and in the final they won3-2 to win. Well done!

Santa Clause

Santa Cause came to visit  Cregmore N.S today. Here are a few pictures showing Santa Clause interacting with some of the students. Not only that but we also collected food for Saint Vincent De Paul. Thank you to all the students who brought in food for Saint Vincent De Paul.

Reel Life Science Competition

Well done to the pupils of 5th and 6th class who participated in the Reel Life Science Competition recently. They recorded their very own 'Tour De Body'. The content of their presentation was very impressive and they were short listed in the top 5 entries for the competition. Their feature will now be shown at the Galway Science and Technology Festival on November 24th in NUI, Galway.

Cregmore Shoe Box Appeal

Well done to all the students who brought in a shoe box for the 'Christmas Shoe Box Appeal' and thank you to Louise for co-coordinating this event.  The boxes will help children in poor countries get a small taste of Christmas this year.

Preparing for Frank
Cregmore National School students were practicing their cooking skills this week for the upcoming Christmas cookery demonstration by Frank Moynihan for Monday 2nd of December in Cregmore Primary School.
Frank will be presenting a cooking demonstration on ‘TASTES OF CHRISTMAS’ in the
Cregmore School Hall.  The renowned chef and writer Frank Moynihan has been invited in a unique and intimate cooking experience. Frank will be familiar to local radio listeners and indeed his culinary talents have also brought him to national prominence. He will be hosting an evening of gourmet cooking on the night in question and will be available afterwards to sign copies of his cookery books.
Tickets are reasonably priced at €10. They are available directly from Cregmore NS (091 799037) or alternatively at (087 9651498).  Doors open at 7pm and the demonstration will begin at 8pm sharp.

Congratulations to the three Cregmore students, Michael, Jack and Hugh, who were part of the team that won in Craughwell on Sunday the 8th September.  They came first in their under 9s group.

2013 Basketball Blitz Winners

Congratulations to our girls basketball team who won the Shield in the annual Basketball Blitz on 29th May, in the Claregalway Community Centre.  The girls beat  Athenry N.S. in the final of the Shield.  The cup winners were New Inn N.S. and runners up Briarhill N.S.  Coolearne N.S. and Lackagh N.S. also give a great display of basketball. Well done to all involved.
